The FanTribe Data Desk's odds feed usually gives us movement to chart — a favourite shortening here, a draw drifting there. This week it offers something stranger: one line, repeated ten times. Every fixture on the card, from the early Saturday kick-off to Monday's closer, is priced home 2.0, draw 3.0, away 2.0. No favourites, no separation — a flat tape that makes the Premier League table look like it comes from a different league.

The slate

It is similar when Manchester City v Ipswich Town comes around. City lead the table with nine points from nine and seven goals scored; Ipswich are 13th on three. Level prices again. When Arsenal, second with a perfect record and one goal conceded so far, travel to a Nottingham Forest side still waiting for a first win, the line stays at 2.0 each way. And Newcastle United, unbeaten in sixth, host an Aston Villa team with one point and no goals to their name — the same story.

Where the flat line looks fair

Brentford v Liverpool suits the pricing best: fifth host seventh, and both are unbeaten on five points. Everton, also unbeaten, against fourth-placed Chelsea, and Leeds United v Manchester United read as genuine toss-ups too, even if the positions — eighth v fourth, ninth v 11th — hint at small edges.

Monday's goalless gathering

The closer brings together two of the three sides yet to score this season: Tottenham Hotspur, 17th on one point with a zero in the goals-for column, and bottom club Coventry City, goalless as well and with five conceded. Even money has rarely looked so fitting.
