Balogun deal collapses

BBC Sport first reported on 31 August that Everton had agreed a £40m fee with Monaco for striker Balogun. By late on 1 September, the same outlet reported that the deal had collapsed after the player walked away, ending the move.

Deadline-day departures

Two headline sales were reported in the final hours of the window:

• BBC Sport reported that Manchester City had agreed a £65m deal for Ndiaye on 31 August, and the broadcaster has since published a feature charting his journey from non-league football to the move.
• Hull City were reported to have agreed a £22m fee for Iroegbunam on 31 August, before BBC Sport listed him among six players Hull signed on deadline day.
• Beto's departure was reported in the same BBC Sport deadline-day coverage.

The reported fees for Iroegbunam and Ndiaye would total £87m in outgoing business for Everton. According to the Premier League table, Hull sit second with six points from two matches, level on points with early leaders Manchester City.

Grealish returns on loan

On the incoming side, BBC Sport reported that Everton had agreed to re-sign Grealish on loan, with no further terms carried in the wire report.
