Aston Villa roundup: winless and 19th ahead of Tottenham trip

A difficult opening month has left Aston Villa 19th in the Premier League table and still searching for a first win of the campaign.

State of play

According to the Premier League table, Villa have one point from four matches — one draw and three defeats — with a single goal scored, seven conceded and a goal difference of -6. Their form line reads LDLL, and they head into the weekend on the back of two straight losses. Only Coventry City, pointless with a -10 goal difference, sit lower.
